Book One of the

WEREWOLVES & WITCHES SAGA

In a time of castles, muskets, and hideous creatures of the night, a beautiful woman travels across the treacherous Dark Forest to be by the side of her dying grandmother. With only a young carriage driver to protect her, she must use her wits and all of her courage to cross the wild country—and to evade the mysterious beast who stalks her.

What follows is a tale full of horror, mystery, and romance: gruesome murders at a village hidden deep in the forest, a castle that holds dark secrets, and a black wolf leading a deadly pack. Nothing is as it seems, and this journey has only just begun. The beautiful lady in the carriage will learn that only love can defeat evil, but is it love or danger that cries out to her in the deceitful light of the moon?

A great read! Not your typical horror book and for sure not your typical romance book. You fall in love with the characters from the start and the mix of mystery, horror, and romance makes this book in the top 5 I have read all year!

PREQUEL TO -  A CRY in the MOON'S LIGHT

This is the story of a beautiful peasant girl and a farm boy who fall in love in the South of France, years before she becomes mi Lady, the Duchess of Harcourt and he becomes . . . something else. It is also the story of William de Parlimae, their childhood companion, whose path takes a different turn.

As children, the three played together. But when the Lord’s son embarks on an important mission with his two closest friends, they find that they’ve stepped past the threshold of youth and into a long, dark night filled with nightmares, cruelty, and vicious beasts.

In the darkness, the two lovers seek refuge at an abandoned village deep in the Dark Forest. But will the moon’s light be enough for them to tell friend from enemy, poison from perfume, and the stuff of dreams from the horrors around them?

LOVED this book! Had a blast reading this! There aren't too many books that have horror, romance, and history elements in one and that's what makes this book so unique. Such a spooky read!

OFFICIAL ARTBOOK AND GUIDEBOOK to A CRY in the MOON'S LIGHT

Father Daniel and his Right Hand of God Order are a secret society fighting hideous creatures of the night. Gathering relics and creating weapons for decades at a place called The Forge. The Forge was built at the face of a silver mine below the Abbey on Feldberg mountain.

The monks there compiled this Compendium at the Abbey in hopes it may help you understand the story that is A Cry in the Moon’s Light. Dispelling myths, retelling legends and digging deeper into the characters and places you love from the story.

There are over 75 illustrations from various artists along with detailed descriptions and some spoilers where the past and future collide! Everything you need to fight evil.

If you loved the style and atmosphere of Hugh Jackman's "Van Helsing", then you're in for something bigger and more fantastical. It works like a "the world of" type concept art book that you might have seen done with things like The Witcher or Game of Thrones.

Alan McGill

Welcome, and thank you for visiting my site. I grew up the son of a third-generation coal miner from Northwestern Pennsylvania. My father weaved tales about the Coal & Iron Police, the UMWA, and life in Coal Country. As a young boy I gravitated to heroes protecting others and striving to do what is right. Heroes such as The Lone Ranger, Batman, and Captain America. All this influenced my writings and stories.

I am an author of horror, romance, science fiction, fantasy, crime thrillers, and more. I think of myself as a story teller more than a writer. I love all forms of art and you will find I look to provide my stories in various forms such as novels and audiodramas.

My debut novel is part one of a werewolf story about a young man forced to give up the woman he loves. While I wrote this story nearly 25 years ago, I offered the first version as a podcast audiodrama. I added special effects and original music to give it an old radio feel. The show did so well, in 2021 it was named to Podbean’s Top 10 in Fiction Drama.

I continue to narrate and produce all my own work as you will learn here. Occassionally you can catch me at various book fairs, comic cons, horror cons, and other events where I enjoy engaging with those who love a good story. I hope you enjoy the works I present here to you.

In the meantime remember, Only Love Defeats Evil, but carry silver anyway!
